AHS students expand their education in a variety of ways. The linked point sheet lists most of those available at Algona High School. The points the student earns through involvement and participation is applied toward the biannual Urban Exploration Trip. In spring 2013, the trip will take the students to an urban city where they will learn about city living (through realtor interview and visits) as well as cultural and educational experiences. The trip will be begin to be planned second semester of the 2011-2012 year. Details will be posted as they become available.
Dear Parents of High School TAG Students, Please note that this is the ‘off’ year for the TAG field trip though planning will begin for next year’s trip. In order to qualify for that trip next year, your son/daughter will need to have accumulated 100 points (if a freshman or sophomore this year), 150 points (if a junior this year) during the school year 2011-2012. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact me. I hope this helps to clarify what opportunities your son/daughter has available to them. Please encourage their participation in as many as interest them.
